What are the types of SEO?
There are mainly 4 types of Search Engine Optimization:
- On-Page SEO
- Off-Page SEO
- Technical SEO
All three are very important for website ranking. Let us understand about them in a little detail:
What is On-Page SEO?
In On-Page SEO, we optimize the content of our website or blog.
This is a common way we optimize our blog posts.
For this we have to do mainly 3 things:
- Doing Keyword Research
- Creating Content
- Keyword Optimization
- Doing Keyword Research
Whenever we write an article on our blog, before that we find such keywords which are searched more on Google and can be ranked on it.
It is necessary to do this because if we write an article without keyword research, then there is very little chance of it being ranked.
There are many tools which are used for keyword research such as:
- Google Keyword Planner
- Ahref
- SEMrush
- Ubersuggest etc.
With the help of these tools, the traffic and competition of any keyword can be seen. Although it is not 100% accurate, but it can definitely be guessed.

Creating Content

What is Off-Page SEO?
As the name suggests, in this we use some SEO techniques that support from outside to boost the ranking of our website.
That is, in off-page SEO, we do not have to make any changes inside our website.
Here we do some such work which increases the authority and reputation of our website. For this some things have to be done like this:
Creating Backlink: That is, getting a link from another website
Social Media Sharing: Sharing the link of your post on social media etc.
There are many ways to create backlink like: guest posting, social bookmarking etc. While creating a backlink, we should always keep in mind that the quality of the site on which we are creating the link should also be good, otherwise it can also have a negative effect.

What is Technical SEO?
Your website is good looking, you have put good content too but still you may need to optimize your site.
In Technical SEO, we work on the backend of the site and try to improve the user experience (UX). For this, we have to pay attention to some things given below:
Page speed: The loading speed of your blog/website should be good, otherwise the user will close your site and go somewhere else and this will give negative signal to Google, which can lead to down ranking. You can check site speed with Google Page Speed Insights.
Mobile Friendly Site: Your site should be well visible on mobile, for this you should use responsive website theme.
Use HTTPs: This is a type of secure protocol, by default the site runs over HTTP which is not secure. For this you have to install SSL. You can read about this in detail in our other article “What is HTTPs”.
Robot.txt File: This is a type of file that contains some codes that tell the search engines which pages to crawl and which not to. This also requires careful attention.
So these were some points which need to be taken care of in technical seo.
